Rio Olympics 2016 schedule, Day 4: India’s Vikas Krishan, Dattu Bhokanal, Heena Sidhu in action

Which sports will Team India compete in on day four of the Rio Olympics? Day four of the Rio Olympics 2016 will see Indians in action across five sports — rowing, shooting, archery, hockey and boxing. Reuters[/caption] Who will be the Indians in action in these sports? Four athletes will take the field for India in individual events on day four, while the men’s hockey team will also be in action, a day after their last-gasp loss to Germany. The only medal chance for India on Tuesday will be in the women’s 25m pistol shooting, where Heena Sidhu will be competing. If she qualifies, the semifinal and final of the event will also be later in the day. In rowing, Dattu Bhokanal will be competing in the quarterfinals. The sole India rower in Rio finished third in his single sculls heats and 15th overall on the opening day and will be part of Quarterfinal four. In archery, India’s only male participant, Atanu Das will be playing his Round of 64 elimination event. Das, who finished an impressive fifth in the ranking round, will be up against Nepal’s Jitbahadur Muktan, who is ranked 60th. The men’s hockey team will also take on Argentina in their third group match. Argentina are currently places third in Pool B with four points, a spot above India, and beat Canada in their last game. India will be recovering from the loss to two-time defending champions Germany, where they conceded the winning goal with three seconds to go. Here are all the Indians in action: Dattu Bhokanal -  Men’s single sculls rowing Heena Sidhu - Women’s 25m pistol Atanu Das - Men’s individual archery Vikas Krisha n - Men’s 75kg middleweight boxing Men's Hockey team What time will these events happen? (all times in IST) Rowing: Dattu Bhokanal’s single sculls quarterfinal will take place at 5.30 PM. Shooting: The women’s 25m pistol qualification will begin at 5.30 PM. If she qualifies, the semifinal will be at 12 midnight and the finals are set to start at 12.15 AM. Archery: Atanu Das’ round of 64 elimination match will against Nepal’s Jitbahadur Muktan is scheduled to begin after 8.00 PM. Hockey: The India vs Argentina hockey match will start at 7.30 PM. Boxing: Vikas Krishan’s bout against USA’s Charles Conwell will take place at 2.45 AM. [caption id=“attachment_2944598” align=“alignnone” width=“825”] ![File photo of Heena Sidhu. Of all the events Indians will compete in on day four, only the women’s 25m pistol is a medal event. After Heena Sidhu failed to qualify for the finals of the 10m air pistol, an event in which she has won most of her medals,  she will be keen to make a mark in the 25m pistol. While it would be a long haul to expect a medal from her in an event she is not very proficient in, but if she can hold her nerves and put in a strong showing, she may be able to spring a surprise.
