IPTL will not be visiting Manila, Philippines and Dubai this year, reportedly due to low revenues in the previous two editions of the league. The Philippine Mavericks team has dropped out, though UAE Royals will still be competing. The Royals will be joined by defending champions OUE Singapore Slammers, Japan Warriors and Indian Aces. The four teams will play in Saitama, Singapore and Hyderabad.

The first leg of IPTL 2016 will be played in Saitama, Japan over three days, from 2 to 4 December. The teams will then travel to Singapore (6 to 8 December) for the second leg, followed by Hyderabad for the final leg as well as the final (9 to 11 December).

The four IPTL teams will compete in a round robin format with matches in each host city. The top two teams at the end of the group stage will qualify for the final on 11 December. The season will feature a total of 17 matches, with each match comprising five sets.

Despite losing big names like Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, the league still has plenty of star power, with the likes of Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori, Serena Williams and Ana Ivanovic all returning this year. Martina Hingis is another fan favourite who has joined the UAE Royals, while Jelena Jankovic is an addition to the Japan Warriors team.

Team Rosters:

Japan Warriors: Kei Nishikori, Fernando Verdasco, Kurumi Nara, Jelena Jankovic, Fernando Gonzalez, Marat Safin, Jean-Julien Rojer
