Dear Srinivasan, read your emails: Rajiv Shukla called Meiyappan 'team owner'

N Srinivasan, the BCCI president, said yesterday that his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was simply a “young [cricket] enthusiast” who associated with the team, while an India Cements press release on Friday said that Meiyappan was not team principal as he claimed on his Twitter account, but merely an honorary member of CSK team management. However, Meiyappan has been an active participant at team auctions since 2009 and given interviews to the press as team principal. Now the Times of India has revealed an email from IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla dated 24 December 2011 that was sent to the various team owners inviting them to the annual workshop that lists Meiyappan as one of the recipients. Image from Twitter @gurunath75[/caption] Shukla addresses the recipients as “Dear owners” in the email and invites them to a meeting that is exclusively for owners and BCCI and IPL officials: “On behalf of the BCCI, I invite you all to the IPL-Franchise owners round table meeting scheduled between 3pm-5pm on 9th Jan, 2012. This session is aimed to create a platform for only owners and IPL to interact and share thoughts to help build a successful league.
