We can discuss things with people but sharing information is different. I will get in touch with my legal adviser and then I can tell you,” Mr. Rauf said. Asked if he knew Bindu Dara Singh, who was also named in the chargesheet, Mr. Rauf said: “I have thousands of friends but that doesn’t mean that if my friends do something then I also have to do anything with that. Let them proof something. I mean, if it was the case that I have taken a favour or a gift or money was given to me … you got to prove allegations,” said Mr. Rauf, who is “wanted accused” along with 15 bookies from Pakistan. Mr. Rauf said he would explain his stand to ICC’s Anti-corruption unit. “I have been an employee of ICC. ICC has their own Anti-corruption unit. Like police they also investigate. When they call me, I will answer them through my legal adviser. I have done five IPLs and my decisions have been 100 per cent correct. I will answer to ICC regarding my allegations,” he said. He has been charged under section 66A of the Information Technology Act, sections 4 and 5 of the Gambling Act. He has also been charged under sections 465 (forgery), 466 (forgery of record of court or of public register), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 490 (breach of contract), 420 (cheating), 212 (harbouring the offender), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. 5.37 pm: Next hearing on November 21 The next hearing in the T20 betting case has been scheduled on November 21. Accused in T20 betting case have been charged with gambling, forgery, cheating and conspiracy. 5.22 pm: ‘We haven’t done anything wrong’ Vindoo Dara Singh has said: ‘Haven’t seen the chargesheet. We haven’t done anything wrong.’ The police have said that Vindoo alerted Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf will allowed him to escape out of the country. The issue of the validity of the prove panel is before the Supreme Court. 5.00 pm: Srinivasan refuses to step aside Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President N Srinivasan today sought to distance himself from his son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings Team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan, who has been named in the chargesheet in the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal, saying that law will take its course in the matter. “You must realise that various aspects of this case as subjudice. I have not seen the chargesheet and I will ask the Secretary of the BCCI to take appropriate action if he finds it necessary. I cannot comment further,” he said. When asked if he will step aside, Srinivasan said, “Why should I? I am not disqualified. Neither can you push me out. PTI[/caption] 4. 30 pm: Meiyappan, Vindoo, Rauf named in Mumbai police chargesheet Chennai Super Kings team principal and N Srinivasan’s son-in-law, Gurunath Meiyappan, has been named by the Mumbai Police in the IPL betting and spot-fixing chargesheet today. Meiyappan has been charged for session betting under Section 130 of the Bombay Police Act. According to Times Now sources, the chargesheet said he leaked vital team details (batting position and team composition), booked for session betting and has been charged for cheating. The police have said there is no evidence of spot fixing in the case. According to reports, Pakistanm umpire Asad Rauf has been declared as a ‘wanted accused.’ Police have recovered alleged invoices of gifts given to Rauf. The next date given for the case in 21 November. Actor Vindoo Dara Singh has also been named in the chargesheet, along with 20 other accused, who are bookies. They have been charged under Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, Sections 4 and 5 of the Gambling Act and Sections 465, 466, 468, 471, 490, 420, 212, 120B and 34 of the Indian Penal. Both Meiyappan and Vindoo are out on bail. While a total of 196 witnesses have been named in the chargesheet, no one from the BCCI will be called as a witness, a CNN-IBN report had said yesterday.
