Preview: Still searching for a win in IPL-8 after two near misses, Delhi Daredevils take on an upbeat Kings XI Punjab in their third game of the IPL today. After losing their opening encounter to Chennai Super Kings by a mere run, the Jean-Paul Duminy-led side was undone by Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickets in their backyard at the Feroz Shah Kotla and its winless run was stretched to 11 games for over two seasons in the cash-rich league. [caption id=“attachment_2197646” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] File picture of Angelo Mathews. BCCI[/caption] Kings XI campaign has been a mixed bag, after the George Bailey-led side was outplayed by RR in the first game but came strongly in their second outing to beat hosts Mumbai Indians. Even though star batsman Glenn Maxwell is yet fire, big boys Virender Sehwag (36) and Bailey (64 not out) made it count in the previous game. Despite losing the first two matches, Angelo Mathews was confident that Delhi Daredevils could still turn it around. “We got so close in the last couple of games. We could have won the Chennai game and the last game as well. We got so close to the line but just couldn’t hold on. It’s still the start of the season, we can still turn it around and the boys are doing really good, the environment is great. We are enjoying our cricket and that’s how it should be. We will try and bounce back and bounce back hard,” Mathews said. There Yuvraj Singh vs Mitchell Johnson battle will be the one to watch out for as the latter has had an upper hand over the costliest player in the IPL. KXIP have an upper hand over DD with 9 wins and 5 losses and DD would look to turn tables this time around. With inputs from PTI

That’s it! DD beat KXIP by 5 wickets!
Mathews thumps it straight back past the bowler for a boundary. DD win their first game after 11 consecutive losses.
OUT! Is there a twist in the tale? KM Jadhav c Anureet Singh b Patel 3 (5b 0x4 0x6)
Jadhav goes for a big one but gets a top edge to cover. 1 needed off 3 now.
Manoj Tiwary is the new batsman.
OUT! 2 IN 2 for Anureet. MA Agarwal b Anureet Singh 68 (48b 7×4 2×6)
Anureet comes from round the wicket and bowls it very full, Agarwal looks to flick but ends up dragging it onto the stumps.
Kedar Jadhav is the new batsman.
OUT! Brilliant catch from Sandeep and Yuvraj departs. Yuvraj Singh c Sandeep Sharma b Anureet Singh 55 (39b 5×4 3×6)
Full on off from Anureet, Yuvraj mistimes his flick to deep mid-wicket where Sandeep rushes forward and pouches a good diving catch.
Angelo Mathews is the new batsman.

After 18 overs, DD 159/2
All too easy for the DD batsmen. Yuvraj again plays a brilliant shot and brings up his fifty with a flicked six over mid-wicket. Mayank then tonks one over square leg for a boundary. 14 runs off the over. Agarwal then cracked one over cover for a boundary. Just 7 needed off 12 balls now.
Loved Yuvi's sixes off Axar & Anureet but that's expected...the real game changer was the Johnson over in which Agarwal got stuck into him.

Yuvraj Singh: I'm effortless#DDvsKXIP #ipl
After 16 overs, DD 135/2
33 runs off the last two overs and this might decide the amtch. 18 runs off the Johnson over. Agarwal has shifted gears really well. He got a lifeline as Sandeep dropped his running in from deep cover. A couple of fours and a six over deep square leg off a pull off Johnson. Yuvraj then gets into the act and lofts it over long on for a six and heaves it over deep square leg for another one. 15 runs off the over. 31 needed off 24 now.
#DD's game to lose but I have an ugly feeling...I won't voice it though 🙏

After 14 overs, DD 102/2
Yuvraj lofts one over mid off for a boundary and then drives one through covers for a couple. 8 runs off the Rishi Dhawan over but then Akshar bowls a frugal over and concedes just 5 runs off it. 13 runs off the last two overs. The required rate os 10.66 now. 64 needed off 36
Yuvraj Singh back to form. Critics and Yograj Singh silent. #IPL #KXIPvDD

After 12 overs, DD 89/2
Yuvraj winning the Johnson v Yuvraj battle. He drives one beautifully through mid off for a boundary and then glances one to fine leg for another one. 10 runs off the Johnson over. Agarwal then finally gets a move on as he hammers Maxwell over wide long on for a six. 20 runs off the last two overs. A much-needed move on for DD.
After 10 overs, DD 69/2
Yuvraj slowly getting into the groove. He at first tucks it to fine leg off Johnson for a boundary but Johnson hits back to bowl a snorter and Yuvraj just about sways away. Yuvraj then hammers a pull over mid-wicket off Sandeep. 13 runs off the last two overs but DD need to up the ante now…..
After 8 overs, DD 56/2
The momentum is sucked out of DD at the moment and the wicket of Duminy has made matters worse. Rishi Dhawan bowled a good over and conceded just 5 runs. Akshar then bowls another frugal over giving away just four runs and affecting a run out. Just 9 runs and a wicket off the last two overs.
Brilliant work from Akshar and unlucky Duminy! ( via @holdingwilley ) #KXIPvDDhttp://t.co/9aohiiQp7A

OUT! Clever from Akshar, good fielding off his own bowling and an unlucky Duminy is run out after collision.
Agarwal punches it straight back, Akshar dives and makes a good stop and flicks it back, Duminy is out of his crease and looks to get back but Akshar comes in his way and he tumbles and falls inside the crease. Replays show that he was just short. Unlucky, Duminy!
Yuvraj Singh strides out to the middle.
After 6 overs, DD – 47/1
DD in cruise control right now. Sandeep bowled another good over and got good outswing to Duminy but he was unlucky as he ended up conceding 9 runs. The latter tried to slash at a wide one but got an outside edge to third man for a streaky boundary. Johnson comes into the attack and Duminy just flicks it through mid-wicket, it races away to the fence. Johnson then hits back well to concede just three runs off next five balls. 16 runs off the last two overs.
After 4 overs, DD – 31/1
Sandeep is getting good inswing going. Shreyas tried to swing one across the line but mistimed it wide of mid on for a boundary but then Sandeep struck to get his man. Duminy then got into the act as he pulled one over mid-wicket for a boundary. DD still haven’t got the momentum going. The KXIP oepning bowlers have done well so far. Now the two batsmen have to face Johnson as we can expect a change. 16 runs and a wicket off the last two overs.
OUT! Sandeep draws first blood. Shreyas Iyer is caught at third man. SS Iyer c Anureet Singh b Sandeep Sharma 6 (5b 1×4 0x6)
It’s short outside off, Shreyas is caught in two minds whether to duck or slash but it’s on his body and he can’t sway away, he gets his bat in the way and gets a top edge to third man where Anureet makes no mistake.
JP Duminy is the new batsman.
After 2 overs, DD – 15/0
A lively start to the innings. The very first ball swings in viciously and Agarwal misses it, a huge LBW appeal is turned down. Agarwal then mistimes a flick over mid-wicket for a boundary to open the account. He then lofted one off Anureet over mid on for another boundary. Rishi Dawan then makes a mess of it at third man fence and concedes another boundary. Agarwal is placing them really well.
165 is a fairly good score to put up a fight...#KXIP would've have wanted more but #DD will have to bat out of their skins to win this.
