IPL 2017 teams: Royal Challengers Bangalore full squad

With a batting line-up as powerful as theirs, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could perhaps lay claim to being the franchise that entertains the crowd the most in the Indian Premier League (IPL), if one takes into account the art of hitting the ball into the stands.

Having scraped the bottom of the barrel in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008, RCB made a spectacular comeback in the following edition by finishing as runners-up — a feat which they went on to repeat two years later. Since then, the Bengaluru-based franchise have consistently been ranked among the title favourites, though they always seem to stumble upon some hurdle along the way.

Under the inspirational captaincy of Virat Kohli, the side went all the way to the final — their third appearance in the summit clash.  With the captain himself in terrific form, having hit four centuries in the course of the tournament, RCB looked set to conquer the title for the first time before David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) proved too good for them.

They have had to deal with a couple of early blows this tournament. Not only did leading Australian pacer Mitchell Starc pull out of the tournament well in advance, but the side will have to manage without the services of KL Rahul, as well as skipper Kohli himself (for a few games though).

RCB squad: Virat Kohli(c), AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Mandeep Singh, Adam Milne, Sarfaraz Khan, Sreenath Aravind, Kedar Jadhav, Shane Watson, Stuart Binny, Samuel Badree, Iqbal Abdulla, Travis Head, Sachin Baby, Avesh Khan, Tabraiz Shamsi, Pawan Negi, Tymal Mills, Praveen Dubey, Aniket Choudhary, Billy Stanlake.
