It's all over. Pune and the rain have won.

  • 23:41 (IST)

  • 23:28 (IST)

Bailey and Rahane are out to bat. No overs have been lost due to the rain.

  • 23:26 (IST)

  • 23:07 (IST)

  • 22:38 (IST)

Play has been stopped due to rain, RPS leading by 15 runs in Duckworth-Lewis method.

  • 22:37 (IST)

Rahane is going strong, he is playing some excellent shots out there just as rain looms around the corner. He lends his bat to a high short ball from Coulter-Nile to lift the ball over the wicket-keeper.

  • 22:25 (IST)

    After 6 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 44/1 ( Ajinkya Rahane 15 , George Bailey 4)

Ajinkya Rahane is one of the most beautiful batsmen out there to watch. Excellent shot from Jinx, he stands upright and times the punch exquisitely through covers, after Bailey had already punished Morris on a free hit. 11 runs off the over. Pune on track for the chase.

  • 22:11 (IST)

OUT! Khawaja departs on 19 after a good start, Morris doing the damage with the ball this time. It was full and wide from Morris and Khawaja gets the outside of his bat on it, Iyer takes an easy catch.

  • 22:09 (IST)

    After 3 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 30/0 ( Ajinkya Rahane 8 , Usman Khawaja 19)

Three fours from Khawaja in the over. Excellent batting. First a full delivery bowled on the leg side, Khawaja got his bat on it and the ball raced away to fine leg. Second was a length ball from Zaheer and Khawaja displayed class to pick it up on the rise and send it racing beyond mid off for four. Third, the best one, straight drive on a full delivery on middle. Costly over, 14 from it.

  • 22:03 (IST)

    After 2 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 16/0 ( Ajinkya Rahane 7 , Usman Khawaja 6)

Coulter Nile struggled to maintain a good line, and he was punished for it. First he put it on Khawaja's pads. The Aussie opener flicked it and the ball flew behind square leg for four. Then he goes short and wide up against Rahane, and gets what he deserves. Rahane whips it to point, beautiful looking shot.

  • 21:56 (IST)

We have a canine intruder on the field. This was the most entertaining moment of this game.

  • 21:49 (IST)

Usman Khawaja and Ajinkya Rahane open for RPS, skipper Zaheer Khan to bowl the first over for Delhi.

  • 21:33 (IST)

    After 20 overs,Delhi 121/6 ( Chris Morris 38 , Nathan Coulter-Nile 2)

Morris has muscled through in the final over to take Delhi to 121/6. The all-rounder  went berserk, hitting two fours and two sixes as Perera conceded 22 runs in the final over. Dhoni looked displeased. From barely crossing 100, Delhi have set a target of 122.

  • 21:23 (IST)

OUT! Duminy walks back, Dinda gets his third on the night, he's been excellent. Dinda goes wide and Duminy chases the ball and tries a scoop. The excution and the occasion is not right for the shot, and Irfan Pathan takes an easy catch behind square leg.

  • 21:19 (IST)

    After 18 overs,Delhi 91/5 ( JP Duminy 12 , Chris Morris 12)

That brings up the 50th dot ball of the innings. Delhi languishing at 91/5 with just 2 overs remaining. Morris and Duminy at the crease, but even if they explode, it'll be too little too late. Far too many dot balls, Delhi have failed to rotate the strike. Credit to RPS bowlers, they've been excellent on the night.

  • 21:07 (IST)

OUT! Nair departs on 41, Zampa strikes again! Nair, just 9 away from a laboured half-century, tries to sweep Zampa, the ball keeps straight and hits Nair's thigh in line with the off stump. Zampa 3/14 on the night!

  • 21:05 (IST)

    After 14 overs,Delhi 68/4 ( Karun Nair 39 , JP Duminy 5)

Delhi finally get a boundary, but only from a midfield by Pathan at short square leg. Duminy and Nair at the crease now. Delhi's run-rate is 4.85. It's been Pune all along.

  • 21:00 (IST)

OUT! Pant foes on 4, he tries to tonk Zampa for big straight one but doesn't get enough bat on it and is caught out by Perera. Zampa gets another wicket. Delhi's miseries compound.

  • 20:58 (IST)

Delhi have been bled dry for boundaries. Not many singles and doubles taken either. The stifling pressure can only lead to wicket given away in frustration.

  • 20:52 (IST)

Rishabh Pant comes in to bat. Ashwin the other spinner in the attack now

  • 20:48 (IST)

OUT! Samson goes on 10, Zampa strikes with a beautiful turner and Samson is stumped out. Samson danced down the track but missed the ball completely. Lots of turn from the young Aussie, Dhoni makes no mistake behind the stumps.

  • 20:45 (IST)

  • 20:43 (IST)

Time for spin. Adam Zampa brought into the attack

  • 20:43 (IST)

    After 9 overs,Delhi 42/2 ( Karun Nair 23 , Sanju Samson 9)

A much needed boundary from Nair. He pulls a short one from Irfan Pathan to square leg for four. Swiveled on the spot and wrapped his bat around the rising ball. Delhi need many of these. 9 overs gone and Delhi on 42/2. Time for a strategic time-out.

  • 20:38 (IST)

    After 8 overs,Delhi 32/2 ( Karun Nair 18 , Sanju Samson 4)

Just 2 runs from Perera's second over. RPS bowlers have maintained discipline tonight and have made runs really hard to come by for DD batsmen. But Delhi will have to get a move on to put up a competitive total.

  • 20:31 (IST)

Dinda is enjoying a good day in the office.

  • 20:30 (IST)

Clearly de Kock prefers to chase.

  • 20:29 (IST)

    After 6 overs,Delhi 28/2 ( Karun Nair 16 , Sanju Samson 2)

Delhi languishing at 28/2 after the end of powerplay. Not the start they wanted. Need to build on from here with a solid partnership. It's up to Sanju Samson and Nair to do that.

  • 20:26 (IST)

    After 5 overs,Delhi 25/2 ( Karun Nair 15 , Sanju Samson 0)

OUT! Iyer is gone on 8. Dinda strikes again. Excellent bowling, he got hit for two fours by Nair, but mixed it up and got Iyer with a bouncer. Iyer advanced, failing to read the short ball. The mishit went high up and straight into the hands of Khawaja.

Earlier Nair had lofted Dinda over deep extra cover, inside-out, exquisitely timed. The ball wasn't too wide, but Nair made room. Nair then went on to wreck Dinda's economy further. This time Dinda drifted down leg. Nair flicked it off his pads gladly accepting the gift to send the ball away behind square for four. But Dinda redeemed the over with the wicket

  • 20:19 (IST)

    After 4 overs,Delhi 15/1 ( Shreyas Iyer 7 , Karun Nair 6)

Iyer gets into the thick of it. Chahar runs in for for his first ball, it's wide half-volley. Iyer gets o top of it quickly and drives it through covers for four. First boundary of Delhi Daredevils' innings. Chahar goes wide again and is punished, this time by Karun Nair. He drives it over extra cover. Message delivered: bowl wide at your own peril!

  • 20:15 (IST)

    After 3 overs,Delhi 4/1 ( Shreyas Iyer 2 , Karun Nair 0)

Dinda has started really well. A wicket-maiden. Just the 2 runs off his first 2 overs and the wicket of de Kock. Shreyas Iyer the new man in.

  • 20:11 (IST)

OUT! De Kock departs on 2, Dinda is rewarded for his tight line and length, he gets de Kock leg-before as the South African tried to flick it to square leg and missed. Ball hits the pad and would've gone on to hit middle-leg.

  • 20:06 (IST)

Chahar, the new man in, to bowl the second over.

  • 20:06 (IST)

    After 1 overs,Delhi 2/0 ( Quinton de Kock (W) 1 , Shreyas Iyer 1)

Just the two runs off the first over, good start from Dinda, kept the line tight and didn't provide much width to the openers.

  • 20:02 (IST)

  • 20:00 (IST)

And the teams are out. Quinton de Kock and Shreyas Iyer to open batting for Delhi Daredevils. Dinda to bowl the first over.

  • 19:41 (IST)

Deepak Chahar comes in for M Ashwin for Pune.

Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Coulter-Nile back in the squad for Delhi

  • 19:11 (IST)

Hello and welcome to the live blog for Rising Pune Supergiants vs Delhi Daredevils. With the playoff spot at stake, Delhi would be looking to roar back into form after the thrashing they received from Mumbai Indians. Pune play only for pride.

Visakhapatnam: After being thrashed by Mumbai Indians in their previous match, Delhi Daredevils will aim to roar back into the Indian Premier League (IPL) play-offs reckoning when they take on bottom-placed Rising Pune Supergiants in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

Placed at the fifth spot with six wins from 11 matches, Daredevils will hope for some consistency in their remaining three league matches to book a place in the play-offs.

On the other hand, already ousted from the race to the play-offs, the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side Pune will aim to finish their debut season on a high after having managed to win just three matches out of 12.

Going into Tuesday's encounter at the VCA Stadium, the Zaheer Khan-led side will aim to put behind its huge 80-run loss to Rohit Sharma's team and hope the batsmen put up a strong performance.

The batting will once again revolve around Rishabh Pant, Quinton de Kock, keeper-batsman Sanju Samson and Karun Nair with all-rounders Chris Morris and Carlos Brathwaite providing the late order fireworks.

Delhi's bowling is led by an impressive Zaheer who has nine wickets so far in the tournament. He will once again have to marshall his unit well along with Mohammed Shami and the duo of Morris and Brathwaite.

The team can also bank on the leg-spin duo of Amit Mishra and Imran Tahir, who have been impressive in the tournament so far along with left-armer Shahbaaz Nadeem.

On the other side, Pune will be aiming to finish their campaign on a winning note after a lacklustre debut in the cash-rich league.

Having lost their premier foreign recruits to injuries, the side will bank on a strong show from the ever-dependable Ajinkya Rahane and skipper Dhoni. Saurabh Tiwary and all-rounder Thisara Perera have been mostly inconsistent in their contributions.

The bowling will be led by off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been a shadow of his impressive self in the tournament so far.

Leg-spinners Murugan Ashwin and Adam Zampa will once again be Dhoni's go-to bowlers along with the pace duo of Ashok Dinda and R.P. Singh.
