Lahiri was tied 33rd at six under while Frenchman Alexander Levy added a eight under to his first round nine under to move to an incredible 17 under as the event was reduced to 54 holes.

India's other player SSP Chawrasia crashed out with rounds of 69 and 75.

Fog had caused nearly seven hours of loss on day one and two and a further three-hour suspension on Saturday saw organisers take the decision to cut the tournament to 54 holes.

Levy made 17 birdies in 35 holes in the first two rounds at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach and returned to the course to make a par on the ninth and set the target for those players yet to start their second rounds.

Englishman Ross Fisher made a birdie in his remaining three holes to reduce the overnight lead to five shots, but Levy was in a commanding position to claim his third European Tour.

Should he lift the trophy on Sunday afternoon, it will be the second time the 26-year-old has won a reduced event, with the Portugal Masters in 2014 being played over 36 holes due to heavy rain.
