India vs Yemen friendly called off due to cancelled air-tickets

Nov 9, 2012

India’s international football friendly against Yemen, which was to be played on 14 November, has been cancelled.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) was notified by the Yemen Football Association (YFA) Thursday morning that their tickets were cancelled due to some problems with the airlines.

“The Gulf Airlines cancelled their reservations for late notification,” the mail stated.

According to the AIFF release, it tried to communicate with the YFA but repeated efforts proved futile. The issue has been reported to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The AIFF also tried to find a replacement team but because of short time at hand, it wasn’t possible.
