2005 marked Nadal’s first entrance into the French Open at the age of 19. In 2006, Nadal retained his French Open crown, denying Federer a career Grand Slam plus the privilege of holding all four slams at one time. Post that he went to win every year till today except in 2009, where he was defeated by Robin Soderling. By winning his seventh French Open this year, he broke Jon Bjorg's record of six titles won at Roland Garros.
