Saina Nehwal didn't disappoint India's badminton fans as she beat Jie Yao of the Netherlands 21-14, 21-16 to make her second quarterfinal appearance in the Olympics. India's hockey team lost 1-3 to New Zealand in a very disappointing match. Nathan Adrian won the gold in men's 100 m freestyle and thus set a new world record. As always Olympics comes with a heavy mix of pressure and emotions for players. Two-Olympics Fencing champion, Mariel Zagunis of the USA, suffered a shock defeat against Jiyeon Kim of South Korea. Here are our picks from the best images of day 5 at the London Olympics.
