India won a tight semifinal against New Zealand in the Under-19 World Cup after the Black Caps failed to chase down a modest target of 210 runs. Earlier, India’s middle-order frittered away the good start provided by the top half as the team posted a disappointing 209 for nine after being put into bat. New Zealand managed to score 200 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs and despite a couple of decent partnerships in the lower-middle order, could not up the run-rate when it was required.
