Barcelona and Lyon got off to winning starts as the European Champions League resumed with it's Last 16 Knock-out Stage. Alexandre Lacazette's deflected goal was enough as Lyon won against this year's surprise package APOEL Nicosia. Bayer Leverkusen lost their home match against favourites Barcelona as Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez created havoc in Germany. Sanchez scored a double and Messi scored a wonderful goal to give them the advantage ahead of the second leg.
