INDIA WIN BY 1 RUN

Absolutely crazy match. Pandya bowls a short of a good length delivery outside off, Hom goes for a slash but misses. Mustafizur charges for a run, Hom relises it late and then sets off. Dhoni, meanwhile, pouches the ball, runs all the way to the stumps and disturbs them. It looks close, the third umpire is called for and replays show Mustafizur was short. Nehra lifts Dhoni as India go wild in celebration. What a crazy match!

Ball 5: OUT! Oh dear! Drama….and more Drama! Full toss from Pandya. Mahmudullah goes for a swing across the line but doesn’t connect it well. Jadeja charges in from deep mid-wicket and pouches a brilliant catch. 2 needed off the last ball.

After 19 overs,Bangladesh 136/6 ( Mahmudullah 17 , Mushfiqur Rahim 3)

Brilliant over from Bumrah. Just 6 runs off it. Mahmudullah tried a paddle sweep but hit it straight to the fielder. They found it very difficult to get away Bumrah’s yorkers. 11 needed off 6 balls.

After 18 overs, Bangladesh 130/6 ( Mahmudullah 14 , Mushfiqur Rahim 0)

Nehra got the wicket of Sarkar but Mahmudullah got the crucial four off the last ball. Sarkar started off with with a four off just the second ball as he pulled one over mid-wicket. Nehra then got Sarkar off the penultimate ball before a low full toss again, is smacked through extra cover for the second four off the over. 10 runs off the over. 17 needed off 12 balls now.

OUT! Nehra gets lucky. Sarkar departs. Soumya Sarkar c Kohli b Nehra 21 (21b 1×4 1×6)

Full toss on middle, Sarkar looks to go downtown but seems to be done in by extra pace. He ends up mistiming it to long on where Kohli accepts a simple catch.

Mushfiqur Rahim is the new batsman. 21 needed off 13.

After 17 overs, Bangladesh 120/5 ( Mahmudullah 9 , Soumya Sarkar 16)

Sarkar gets a lifeline. A good over from Bumrah. He was on a yorker-spree. Five yorkers in the over. Bangladesh, however, managed to get 7 runs off the over. Sarkar looked to jam one to third man off the last ball, again a yorker, but got an outside edge, Dhoni dived but spilled it.  7 runs off the over. 27 needed off 18 now.

After 16 overs,Bangladesh 113/5 ( Mahmudullah 6 , Soumya Sarkar 12)

Sensible from Bangladesh. Sarkar gets down first ball and hammers it over deep mid-wicket for a flat six. There is a huge appeal for a caught behind next ball as Sarkar looked to steer one, it seemed as if it went off the face of the bat to the naked eye but snicko replays showed there was no bat involved. Two more singles make it 9 runs off the over. 34 needed off 24 now.

After 14 overs, Bangladesh 99/5 ( Mahmudullah 3 , Soumya Sarkar 2)

Bangladesh being cautious off Jadeja. Think that is the sensible approach as he has just one over remaining now. Sarkar looks to cut one late but misses and a huge LBW shout from Jadeja is turned down. Just three runs off the over. 48 needed off 36 now.

OUT! Ashwin strikes. Shakib back in the hit. Shakib Al Hasan c Raina b Ashwin 22 (15b 0x4 2×6)

A lovely delivery. Loopy and on a length outside off, Shakib stays in his crease and looks to defend but is done in by the away turn and gets an outside edge to first slip.

Soumya Sarkar is the new batsman.

OUT! Jadeja is fighting it out for India. Mortaza departs. Mashrafe Mortaza b Jadeja 6 (5b 0x4 1×6)

It’s full on off, Mortaza gives himself room, charges down the track and looks to go inside out. He gives it a huge swing but misses and finds his stumps shattered.

Mahmudullah is the new batsman.

After 11 overs, Bangladesh 87/3 ( Shakib Al Hasan 15 , Mashrafe Mortaza 6)

Poor from India! Another chance goes abegging in that over. This time Ashwin is the culprit. He drops Shakib. Shakib smashes it to deep cover, Ashwin runs in but fluffs. Earlier he was livid when Bumrah had dropped Tamim off his bowling. Shakib then adds insult to injury as he flicks one over wide long on for a six. 10 runs off the over.

Bangalore, India:  Veteran fast bowler Ashish Nehra said India can’t afford any slip-ups againstBangladesh on Wednesday if they are to avoid a humiliating early exit from the World Twenty20 on home soil.

The hosts are precariously placed in fourth spot of Group Two after one defeat and one win and desperately need an emphatic victory against Bangladesh to boost their run rate as they bid for a semi-finals berth. India’s six-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan on Saturday will have boosted their confidence after a shock 47-run defeat to New Zealand in their opening group match. But Nehra, part of the Indian side that won the 50-overs World Cup in 2011, saidBangladesh could not be “taken lightly”. [caption id=“attachment_2692974” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]India would be looking to win against Bangladesh to make road to semi-finals easier. AFP India would be looking to win against Bangladesh to make road to semi-finals easier. AFP[/caption] “Only two teams will qualify. Till the time (you do), you need to approach every game as a knockout game. There’s not too much room for error,” the 36-year-old said in a pre-match press conference Tuesday. “Everyone in the dressing room, we are not taking Bangladesh lightly.” Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has urged his big-hitters to improve their run rate dramatically against Bangladesh and then Australia in the following match if they are to be sure of qualification. While Bangladesh have a poor track record in T20s, they beat India in a one-day series last year. Dhoni said India, firm favourites at the start of the tournament to lift a second World T20 title, needed to improve to qualify from a tough group. “I still feel there is still scope for improvement and in the coming two games that will be our priority,” he said after Saturday’s win over Pakistan. New Zealand top the group on four points after two wins while Pakistan, Australia and India all have two points. However India’s run rate, which could determine who qualifies, is considerably worse than their rivals. “In the first game our run rate went down. So it’s not only about winning but you have to take care of the run-rate at some point,” added Dhoni. The hosts are seeking to become the first country to win the World T20 title twice, after clinching the crown in 2007, and also the first to win at home. Sloppy fielding A depleted Bangladesh, by comparison, will be desperate for a win after two straight losses, the latest to Australia by three wickets on Monday. Sitting at the bottom of Group Two after also losing to Pakistan, the Tigers have almost no chance of advancing to the semi-finals, but skipper Mashrafe Mortaza vowed to battle on. “We will keep fighting. We still have two matches to fight hard,” he said. Shakib Al Hasan, widely considered Bangladesh’s best player, said his side needed to stamp out sloppy fielding including dropped catches that marred their efforts against Australia. “We need to be very disciplined with our bowling and fielding to restrict them (India),” he said. The Tigers were left reeling after the ICC’s decision at the weekend to suspend their top bowlers Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed for illegal actions, forcing them to rush in replacements from Bangladesh. There are also question marks over star batsman Tamim Iqbal who is unwell and did not play against Australia. Teams India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt and wicketkeeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Pawan Negi, Ashish Nehra, Hardik Pandya, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh. Bangladesh: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Shakib Al Hasan, Abu Hider, Al-Amin Hossain, Mahmudullah, Mohammad Mithun, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mustafizur Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Nurul Hasan (wicketkeeper), Sabbir Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Tamim Iqbal, Shuvagata Hom, Saqlain Sajib   AFP
