Novak Djokovic is a fierce on-court competitor; his marathon battles with Rafael Nadal are the stuff of legend as is his ability to simply chase down everything that comes his way. This man simply doesn't give up. Ever.
But give him a moment to switch off and he can come up with the most wonderful set of impersonations, sing a song or generally show just how fun a guy he can be.
During his first round match against Joao Sousa at the French Open, play was suspended because of rain, and Djokovic, who was up 6-1, 5-2 at that point, sat down while one of the ball boys stood over him with an umbrella.
Then suddenly, Novak made room for the young man, having him take a seat and even hold his racquet while Novak took command of the umbrella.
They went on to share a drink too.
"It was a nice, fun time, something unusual for the grand slams," said Djokovic after the match.
"We waited for around 10 minutes in the pouring rain on the court, so I felt there's something I should do and make a new friend. He accepted the offer to sit down, which I didn't think he would do. So he's very spontaneous little boy, and I hope I see him my next match."
