Mirpur: Statistical highlights of the opening match of the Asia Cup cricket tournament between India and Bangladesh. - India have won all three encounters vs Bangladesh in T20Is by 25 runs at Nottingham on 6 June 2009, by 8 wickets on 28 March 2014 and by 45 runs at Dhaka on 24 February 2016. - Under Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy, India enjoys success percent of 57.01 32 wins, 24 losses, one tied and one no result games out of 58 matches. - India became the first team to register six wins this year in T20Is (out of seven) winning percent 85.71. PTI[/caption] - India’s well deserved triumph by 45 runs is their fifth largest in terms of runs in T20Is the biggest being by 90 runs vs England at Colombo (RPS) on 23 September 2012. - Rohit Sharma’s superb matchwinning 83 off 55 balls is the highest by an Indian batsman vs Bangladesh in T20Is, eclipsing the 57 not out off 50 balls by Virat Kohli at Dhaka on 28 March 2014. - The aforesaid knock is the highest by an Indian batsman in T20Is in Bangladesh, bettering the 77 by Virat Kohli vs Sri Lanka at Dhaka on 6 April 2014. - Rohit’s 83 is his highest in a winning cause in T20Is, eclipsing the 62 not out vs West Indies at Dhaka on 23 March 2014. - Rohit Sharma has received his third Man of the Match award in T20Is his first two were against South Africa at Durban in 2007 and 2011. - Rohit and Kohli have registered 9 fifties in a winning cause for India in T20Is. Only Brendon McCullum (12) has posted more fifties in a winning cause in T20Is. - Ashish Nehra’s superb bowling performance of 3 for 23 is his best against a Testplaying nation in T20Is his second best in all next only to the 3 for 19 vs Afghanistan at Gros Islet on 1 May 2010. - Hardik Pandya’s 31 off 18 balls is his highest score in T20Is, bettering the 27 vs Sri Lanka at Ranchi on 12 February 2016. - AlAmin Hossain (3/37) has recorded the best ever figures by a Bangladeshi bowler vs India in T20Is, eclipsing the 2 for 32 by Naeem Islam at Nottingham on 6 June 2009. - Yuvraj Singh has become the fourth Indian batsman to amass 1,000 runs in T20Is his tally being 1008 in 47 matches at an average of 29.64. He has joined Virat Kohli (1223), Rohit Sharma (1149) and Suresh Raina (1136). - Rohit has amassed eleven fiftyplus innings (a hundred and ten fifties) in 44 innings the second highest tally by an Indian batsman in T20Is next only to the twelve by Virat Kohli. - Just four batsmen have registered more innings of fiftyplus in T20Is Brendon McCullum (15), Chris Gayle (14), Tillakaratne Dilshan (12) and Virat Kohli (12). - Hardik Pandya and Rohit were involved in a stand of 61 the highest fifthwicket partnership for India vs Bangladesh in T20Is. - The above partnership is the second highest for any wicket behind the 100 for the second wicket between Kohli and Rohit at Dhaka on March 28, 2014. - Rohit, with 175 runs at an average of 58.33 in three matches, including two fifties, is the top runscorer in T20Is involving India and Bangladesh. - Mahendra Singh Dhoni, with 31 catches, has set a record for most catches by a wicketkeeper in T20Is, eclipsing the 30 by Denesh Ramdin for the West Indies.
