Sachin Tendulkar is usually the main attraction when there’s a match at the Wankhede Stadium but this time, there was another massive reason for fans to flock to Churchgate — Virender Sehwag was playing his 100th Test match.
The batsman, like him or hate him, is a legend and these numbers prove that.
But does Sehwag really care that it was his 100th Test? Of course, the kheer-loving opener knows that he is only the 9th Indian cricketer to reach the landmark, but that will certainly not change the way he plays.
He’s been playing in one style throughout his career, and a milestone like this hardly matters.
Before he was dismissed, Firstpost asked fans outside the Wankhede about his achievement and whether he really cared about it.
Even though he was not overly aggressive, the answer was simple: Sehwag will play his natural game.
Check out the video above for a glimpse of the atmosphere outside the Wankhede, kids screaming for Sehwag and yes, we have an Englishman proudly singing the Barmy Army chant.
