EPL buzz: QPR sign Man United’s Park, Kalou off to Lille

Jul 9, 2012

- Manchester United’s utility midfielder Ji Sung Park is set to seal a move to Queen’s Park Rangers. A BBC report said that the South Korean will move for an initial £2 million, with the fee rising to a potential £5 million. He won four English Premier League titles and a Champions League while at Old Trafford.

- Meanwhile, released Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou has completed his transfer to French club Lille. Kalou seemed very confident in this Goal.com report and was quoted as saying: “This stadium and the players brought in show Lille want to become a serious contender on the continental scene.”

- Tottenham Hotspur are finally close to agreeing terms with long-term target Jan Vertonghen. After a long drawn saga, it looks like the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas has worked for the deal and the centre-back will sign for the White Hart Lane. A statement on the club website confirmed the news but did not disclose the transfer fee. This follows the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim.

- Spurs are in the hunt for an agile striker too. This Footy Latest report links them with a bid for Daniel Sturridge.

- Meanwhile, Liverpool, who really need something special to turnaround their form from last season have seen their bid for Esteban Granero rejected by Real Madrid. Here is the full Daily Mail report.

- And away from the EPL, Barcelona’s Seydou Keita has left the club and seems to be heading to China. In his four years with the Catalans… he won 14 trophies.
