Of all the things Anirban Lahiri has achieved so far, finishing above the likes of Rory McIlroy and Jeev Milkha Singh at the British Open is the most incredible one.

Probably it is not as good as winning the tournament, but ending as 31st on a course which is deemed even by the best as ‘tough’ could be a sign of things to come.

Anirban Lahiri emerged as the best Asian golfer at the British Open despite a final round of 73, his highest of the week to finish at three-over 283 that left him in tied 31st place. Jeev Milkha Singh also shot a final round 73 to finished at 10-over 290 in tied 69th place.
