Of all the things Anirban Lahiri has achieved so far, finishing above the likes of Rory McIlroy and Jeev Milkha Singh at the British Open is the most incredible one.
Probably it is not as good as winning the tournament, but ending as 31st on a course which is deemed even by the best as ‘tough’ could be a sign of things to come.
That, and the first hole-in-one at Lytham has suddenly made Lahiri one of most mentioned Indian sportspersons this past week.
