Yeddyurappa embarrassed out of hospital and in to jail

Shuttled from one hospital to another after his arrest in connection with a land notification scam , Former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has finally been embarrassed out of hospital and into his prison cell. Upset with BJP national leaders like L.K. Advani criticizing him, and after getting too much bad press, Yeddyurappa decided to get himself discharged from hospital and move in to jail. The change of heart came after severe media criticism about the BJP’s sycophancy towards him. [caption id=“attachment_111792” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“PTI”]  [/caption]3 days after his surrender, mediapersons finally got a glimpse of Yeddyurapa as he was wheeled out of hospital on a stretcher and taken away in a convoy to the Bangalore central jail. The drama of the last 4 days has been testimony to the level of power the disgraced former Chief Minister still wields in the state. The fact that many ministers and religious leaders visited him while he was supposedly in custody has further embarrassed national leaders participating in the anti-corruption yatra with L.K. Advani. He will remain in judicial custody till 22 October and officials said that he has been lodged in a cell and has not been admitted to the jail hospital as yet. Meanwhile the Congress took a dig at Yeddyurappa on his hospitalisation, suggesting he was trying to avoid jail. Yeddyurappa had filed a bail application in the High Court on Monday. Facing imminent arrest, he had surrendered before the Lokayukta Court last Saturday after it rejected his bail plea.
