Why is Robert Vadra inaccessible?, asks Arvind Kejriwal

by Oct 8, 2012

Arvind Kejriwal, the activist-turned politician has made serious allegations of corruption against Robert Vadra, Sonia Gandhi‘s son-in-law. They have brought to light land deals and preferential investments that Vadra had with real estate company DLF. Speaking to CNN-IBN, Arvind Kejriwal made it clear why they thought that this was not a personal attack.

Is it fair play on Kejriwal’s part to not let Vadra answer?
Kejriwal clarified that he did not think that there was anything wrong in questioning Vadra without letting him clarify his own stance. He said,”The people of this country have a right to question. He can answer all the questions now.” Since the people that they had targeted were very powerful people, fairplay was not incumbent on them, he added.

Have the Kejriwals got it right with allegations against Robert Vadra? PTI

There is nothing wrong in preferential shares, isn’t it?
Kejriwal said,”We are only raising some very serious questions about his deals. But his silence is speaking volumes.” He not only rubbished claims of defaming him on a personal bias but challenged the anchor by saying that the channel does not have the guts to call him and question him.”They are inaccessible people,” he reasoned.

Is there a political motive behind the allegation at this time?
These allegations were revealed way before in The Economic Times. So why would one want to reck it up now? Kejriwal said,”They ought to be revived. They are that serious.” When questioned that there was no need for Robert Vadra to go public because these were company documents already in the public, he said,”The people need to know.”

Is Kejriwal anti-Congress?
Kejriwal reminded,”On 26th August, we had gheraoed Nitin Gadkari’s house and also several other BJP leaders house.” When he was pointed out that on that day they also gheroaed Congress leaders house, he said,” Both Congress and BJP allege that we are agents of each other. I think that makes us neutral.”

More skeletons in the Congress closet?
On Wednesday, Arvind Kejriwal has promised to bring the corrupt deeds of another politician in the public domain. Will it be another Congress person or this time he will make a difference? “Maybe it is another Congress leader,” he said and signed off.
