Mallya entered the Rajya Sabha as an independent member on 1 July, 2010 and his term ends on June 30 this year. This is the last regular session of his six-year term.

His first term as a MP was from 10 April, 2002 to April 2008.

His attendance was highest in 2010, but saw a sharp decline in last two years.

In the 220th session (from 7 July to 31 August, 2010), the independent MP from Karnataka attended 20 sittings of the 26 while in 224th session (From 11 November, 2011 to 29 December, 2011), he attended 14 sessions of 24.

During the special session (from 9 to 11 June, 2014) Mallya did not attended Parliament even once.

According to the attendance data, in 2014, Mallya attended Parliament only 13 times in comparison to the 64 sitting the Rajya Sabha.
