The BJP has ruled out the possibility of a third front emerging victorious in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections terming it a 'failed idea'.
"We are confident that election results will be spectacularly in our favour...The whole party is confident of it," BJP leader Arun Jaitley said.
"All political parties which offer the non-Congress space will also have to consider they have a contribution to remove this government," the senior BJP leader said.
He also rubbished any possibility of a third political front emerging victorious in the upcoming polls, saying,"The third front is a failed idea."
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi on the 4th anniversary of UPA 2, Jaitley also questioned the role of the Prime Minister and said the office had never been fallen in the eyes of the people to this extent before.
"Never has the country seen such an environment of gloom and pessimism," he said.
Jaitley also hit out at the Congress for using the CBI to ensure support by its allies.
"If it weren't for the CBI, Mulayam Singh and Mayawati might not have supported the UPA from outside," he said.
The BJP leader also accused the government to failing to take steps to ensure initiatives for accountability like the Lokpal ever reached fruition.
