Indian netizens on Twitter have begun a virtual search for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who has been stoically silent at a time when the whole country was looking to its government for answers. [caption id=“attachment_19743” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“AFP”]  [/caption]Singh has been increasingly coming under attack for his complete inability or unwillingness to provide decisive leadership. The 2G scandal, the CWG scam and now the Baba Ramdev debacle have all been marked by Singh’s silence. In an earlier article, Firstpost pointed out that Singh continued to be nothing but a faceless bureaucrat. “If his helplessness is the result of the power dynamics within the Congress, the country has lost patience with it”, it added. And one weekend later, this impatience has found its way on to social media. Twitterati began using the hashtag #findingmanmohansingh this morning and the trend quickly caught on. A few hours later it was the top Twitter trend for India. Tweets included jibes such as: “#findingmanmohan Sibal in a press just announced that there is no Manmohan Singh. All discussion on its existence is just an assumption” (@jitengajaria) and “Sonia G probably just woke up and casually said “get lost yaar” #findingmanmohan” (@bangdu) Below are a few of our favorite tweets containing the hashtag:
