After Union Salman Khurshid’s statement that the Congress was ‘directionless’ without Rahul Gandhi, the Samajwadi Party and BJP have said that the statement only highlights the condition of the ruling party.
Samajwadi party leader Shahid Siddiqui said that the statement only indicated the truth and he welcomed it.
“He has spoken the truth. Salman Khurshid comes out openly and I welcome it. The Manmohan Singh government is directionless and because of that economy is suffering people are suffering,”he said.
The Samajwadi party leader also said that Congress party general secretary Rahul Gandhi was not “leader material”.
“Rahul Gandhi is not leader material. He doesn’t have any ideology and his fundamentals are not clear,” the leader said.
The BJP which was quick to seize the opportunity said that the law minister’s statements highlighted that there was a “civil war” within the party.
“The nation is not interested in who is number two, number one, Mr. clean, Mr. corrupt. The nation wants to get rid of corruption, scams, unemployment and rising prices,” BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
“When there are voices erupting from within the congress, it only signifies that there is a civil war within the party,” he said, adding that the government was a deterrent to economic growth of the nation.
