Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde with speculation rife that the UPA is mulling the setting up of a Telangana territorial council much similar to that of Bodoland.
CNN-IBN quoting sources said that the council will have administrative powers including control of development funds but will not have control over law and order.
The council, much like the Bodoland authority, will have elected representatives who serve a five-year term.
Sources also told the channel that Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is in favour of such a council and that the Congress is likely to take a final decision on the issue when the party’s core group next meets.
