Scuffle in Parliament over quota bill was Congress plot, says BJP MP

by Sep 6, 2012

While the BJP has been disrupting the Parliament proceedings over the coal block allocations, a MP from the party has blamed yesterday’s scuffle between BSP and SP legislators on the Congress and has alleged the disturbance was also orchestrated to divert attention from the allegations of corruption the government was facing.

“The whole plot was masterminded by the Congress Party. If anybody is really to be blamed its the Congress. This is  exactly what the government wanted to happen. They planned the whole thing,” Mitra told to CNN-IBN.

“SP and BSP have strong diverse views on this issue. Although something like this should not have happened, it did happen,” he added.

Mitra also condemned such behaviour in the Upper House of Parliament.

“These kind of scenes in Parliamentary democracy, particularly the upper house which is suppose to be house of elders were more learned and scholarly people are there who are suppose to make contribution to increase the level of debate, are unfortunate,” he said.
