‘Ramdev, Anna are just masks of the Sangh Parivar’

by Aug 10, 2012

If Anna Hazare‘s fast was a tragedy, then Baba Ramdev‘s hunger strike against black money and corruption is likely to end as a comedy and both were just fronts for the Sangh Parivar being used to ferment anti-Congress sentiment in the country, Kumar Ketkar, Editor of daily Divya Marathi, said.

According to Ketkar, Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare are just fronts for the Sangh Parivar, being used to
create a wave of anti-Congress sentiment in the country ahead of the 2014 elections.

“Ramdev Baba is a mask of Sangh Parivar and Anna also was the mask of Sangh Parivar. They want to hide behind Anna and behind Ramdev as their own credibility is very low,” Ketkar said.

“They wanted to have people like yogis and saints to create some kind of a facade till the 2014 elections,” he said.

According to the editor, the yoga guru’s agitation can only end as a black comedy.

“Anna’s(agitation) was a tragedy, Ramdev’s(agitation) is a farce which will end up as a black comedy,” Ketkar told CNN-IBN.

“Anna’s wicket fallen, now they have this one-down batsman Ramdev who has come,” he added.

Ketkar also said that the agitation is nothing more than a reality show that pretends to represent all the other anti-corruption movement in the country.

“I think it is like a reality show on TV. The first reality show was that of Anna and now it is Ramdev Baba,” he said.

“For the last year and half we have been seeing this reality show and we have been told virtually that they represent the entire anti-corruption movement,” he added.
