While Salman Khurshid clarified that his 'cameo' comment on Rahul Gandhi was misinterpreted, other Congress leaders aren't letting go of Rahul Gandhi. Mani Shankar Aiyar, Congress MP, said on CNN-IBN that Rahul Gandhi may have done a cameo role considering whole of Congress but still he holds an important position.
"Rahul may have done a cameo role as far as the whole Congress is concerned but for best supporting actor he wins my Oscar," Aiyar said on a late night discussion.
Also on the discussion was Chandan Mitra, BJP MP, who said Rahul Gandhi's contribution is like political item numbers.
"Salman Khurshid glorified Rahul Gandhi's performance by calling it a cameo, I think he has only enacted only few political item numbers," Mitra said.
But somehow in the middle the focus of the debate shifted from Rahul Gandhi's 'achievements', to making personal comments. Aiyar started it by calling Chandan Mitra a minor BJP spokesperson
"I hear no comment from the media or people like Yashwant Sinha and other minor BJP spokesperson such as one you have got now talking about the concerns of the poor," Aiyar said.
When Mitra got the to chance to respond, he called Aiyar a 'chorus girl or Congress extra'.
"The chorus girl or Congress extra who is sitting in your studio would not deny that but for Gandhi surname nobody would have give Rahul Gandhi a second look," Mitra said.
