Provide healing touch, help the poor: Congress to govt

In the wake of intense protest over the latest petrol price hike, the Congress today urged the government to look the matter very seriously and consider ways to give relief to the poor and the needy.[caption id=“attachment_123710” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi. “]  [/caption] Addressing a press conference, Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “We understand the plight of the people and call upon the government to provide a healing touch.” Singhvi, however, made it clear that there is no question of a rollback and all measures would focus on taming the rising prices in future. The Congress spokesman refrained from directly reacting to Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banrjee’s threat tpo leave the government but said, “The Congress party is expressing its concern keeping in mind the views of its alliance partners.” Singhvi attacked the principal opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party saying, “The BJP always adopts a disruptive and anarchical position at the time of delicacy.”
