Please spare Mother Teresa, she was a noble soul: Arvind Kejriwal to RSS

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for his remark on Mother Teresa and asked the organisation to “spare her” as she was a noble soul.

Kejriwal posted a tweet against the remark made on Mother Teresa in which he also said that he had worked with Mother Teresa for a few months in Kolkata.

I worked wid Mother Teresa for a few months at Nirmal Hriday ashram in Kolkata. She was a noble soul. Pl spare her.

Arvind Kejriwal’s statement comes after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday evening had said that conversion to Christianity was the main objective behind Mother Teresa’s service to the poor.

“Mother Teresa’s service would have been good. But it used to have one objective, to convert the person, who was being served, into a Christian,” he had said while speaking at a function organised by NGO Apna Ghar near Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

“The question is not about conversion but if this (conversion) is done in the name of service, then that service gets devalued,” he had said. “But here (at the NGO), the objective is purely service of poor and helpless people,” Bhagwat had added.

Trinamool Congress spokesman Derek O’Brien also condemned Bhagwat’s reported remarks and said Mother Teresa is not about Christianity only but is a world figure loved by everyone.

“Since I am from Kolkata, so it makes it even more worse to hear what he said”, he said.
