Mamata Banerjee had said in an interview to CNN-IBN that the Congress was running the UPA-II with money, muscle and mafia power and that the elections would be held in 2013 after they present a 'populist' budget to hogwash the people.

Salman Khurshid, Minister of Law and Justice said, "This might be a very good alliteration but is not very reasonable politics. She has been a good partner and a friend. I would request her to reflect on better use of words," in response to the interview on CNN-IBN.

On speaking about her exit from the government, he said it was very unfortunate that TMC left the government at such a crucial hour. "If she feels that she was not consulted on the issue of FDI, then she has made her point by leaving the government," he added.
