Live: Mayawati says Shinde should have held his tongue

by Jan 24, 2013

After condemning and criticising Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's statements about the RSS and BJP camps acting as terror camps, the BJP today is set to launch a nationwide agitation against his statements.

The RSS has already initiated legal proceedings against the Home Minister, who despite being backed by his party and colleagues, has remained silent on the issue. Foreign Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and the Home Secretary had claimed Shinde's statements were based on fact, and the Congress party has said the Home Minister's statement might have been a 'slip of tongue'.

The lack of apology is what seems to be infuriating the BJP, who will be led by newly appointed party president Rajnath Singh in the agitation today and he will be keen to make the event a success.
