I am a student of law, will defend myself: Raja

Former Telecom Minister and the main accused in the 2G scam, A Raja was given a rousing welcome by his supporters at his constituency of Nilgiris on Sunday. Supporters played music and banged drums as Raja traveled from the airport to the Nilgiris.

“The people are having faith upon me,” said A Raja speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN from Ooty.

“The people are not believing the stories that have been put up by the media and the CBI. The claim that I have caused 1 lakh 76 thousand crore loss to the exchequer, people are not believing it,” Raja said.

When asked if he was being singled out in the 2G case, Raja said, that there is no question of being singled out.

He also said that he is not disappointed with the Prime Minister or the Home Minister for not defending him in the 2G scam.

“I am student of law. I will defend myself effectively. I have all competence and courage,” Raja said.
