The first phase of polling gets underway in Gujarat, where voters in 87 of the 182 constituencies of the state assembly will exercise their franchise at 44,579 polling stations. And right now, all eyes are on the region of Saurashtra, which is the stronghold of Modi’s former colleague Keshubhai Patel.
