Delhi election is a fight between promise-keepers and liars, says Amit Shah

New Delhi: BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday said the Delhi election was a fight between two ideologies — one that makes and keeps its promises, referring to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the other of lying and making false promises, hinting towards the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). “The Delhi polls are a fight between two ideologies - those who do what they say and the others who make promises but never fulfill them,” Shah said at a public meeting here on the last day of campaigning before the 7 February polls. Then why did you do so? You also took Congress support to form the government in Delhi despite promising not to do so and also swearing by your children,” he said. “They (AAP) said they will never take government bungalows and cars but within 49 days, they moved from Wagon R car to SUVs. If they get five years in power, they will park aeroplanes in front of their houses,” he said. Shah also accused the AAP of deceiving Delhi’s trader community by making false claims about reduction in VAT (value-added tax) during its 49-day rule. IANS
