Chautala addresses rally from jail? Tihar jail begins probe

by Feb 25, 2013

Who says you can’t address political rallies from jail? If you wield enough influence a few high walls and prison grills can’t keep you apart from your audience.. even if they are miles away.

According to an Ibnlive report, Ajay Chautala, the son of the INLD chief and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, addressed a rally in Sonepat from Tihar jail and even checked on the health of his audience.

Ajay Chautala, who is cooling his heels in Tihar jail after being convicted in the JBT scam case along with his father, reportedly received a call from his son on 20 February and was put on speakerphone to address a rally in Sonepat.

Jail officials have been quoted as saying that the INLD MLA addressed the crowd for about five minutes and spoke to them about his Om Prakash Chautala’s health and inquired about the audience’s health as well.

Red faced Tihar jail officials are conducting a probe into the incident and the jail superintendent is expected to submit a report by tomorrow.
