A day after his joint fast with Anna Hazare, yoga guru Ramdev met BJP President Nitin Gandkari today to build support for a campaign to recover black money kept by Indians in foreign bank accounts.
Gadkari extended the BJP’s support to Ramdev saying, “Baba Ramdev’s fight aganist black money is very important. The BJP party support Baba Ramdev in this andolan. This is an agitation above party lines, this is for the benefit of the country.”

According to a NDTV report, Gadkari touched Ramdev’s feet as a sign of respect, after the meeting ended. “Our culture is that when there is a sanyasi, we seek his blessings. I touched his feet according to Indian culture, ” said the BJP President.
Ramdev said that the meeting with Gadkari was one of the first calls he was making on a series of visits to political leaders across the spectrum to seek support for his movement. He said, “Black money has to be brought back to curb inflation, we all want that. The movement should not be politicised.”
The Yoga Guru has also sought appointments with Lalu Prasad, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sonia Gandhi, AB Bardhan and Sharad Yadav among others.
