The BJP will meet with the RSS to finalise their strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in a key meeting to be held in Delhi today.

The meet will be attended by Narendra Modi, BJP President Rajnath Singh and other senior BJP leaders including Sushma Swaraj who announced that she was attending the meet on her Twitter account.

Top RSS leaders Bhaiyaji Joshi, Dattatreya Hosabale and Suresh Soni are also expected to attend. But LK Advani is out of town and will meet RSS leaders later, according to CNN-IBN.

The meeting which will also discuss the party's monsoon strategy comes amid increasing speculation that the BJP will declare Narendra Modi its Prime Ministerial candidate sooner rather than later.  Just ahead of the meeting, senior leader Yashwant Sinha said that nothing could stop Modi from becoming the Prime Minister.

"The next Prime Minister of this country will be Narendra Modi", he said to party workers at a meeting in Jharkhand.

NDTV quoting party sources, said on Wednesday that the announcement would be made in September.

This is not the first news report that claimed to know when Modi will be announced as the BJP’s PM candidate. Previously the Economic Times, had reported that Modi would be formally named as the PM candidate by the end of July. However, no such announcement has taken place.

The report said, “Narendra Modi will be formally named BJP’s prime ministerial candidate by July end, ending all ambiguity on his projection as the party’s face for the next general elections and setting the stage for a direct contest between the Gujarat chief minister and Congress scion Rahul Gandhi.”

Recently party president Rajnath Singh had also praised the Gujarat Chief Minister, saying that Modi was without doubt the most popular leader in the country.
