Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda-- remember the name because this man is India's Paralympics hero. The 24-year-old high-jumper gave India it's first medal at the Paralympics in London after clearing 1.74m using scissors technique in the final of the event to finish second in the presence of an 80,000 capacity crowd last night. Surely we label our Olympics winners as heroes... and Girisha's achievement is no less.
