Images: India Gate cordoned off as hundreds march for women’s rights

Members of more than 20 women and students' associations, marched under under the banner 'Justice for Women now' from near Humayun's Tomb in the national capital to India Gate. While the police cordoned off India Gate and Vijay Chowk area, and heavy police presence was present on the route which the protesters took, the protest was peaceful. The protesters sought the removal of the Delhi police commissioner, fast tracking of one lakh pending rape cases within 100 days, registration of FIRs for all complaints of rape and crime against women, consultation with women's organisations and students before prior to special session of Parliament, massive expansion of safe public transport for women.
