May 30, 2012   (4 images)

The DMK held protests in Chennai today to protest the 'unprecedented' hike in petrol price and sought its immediate rollback. Today's protests by the DMK are the second such by an UPA ally after the Trinamool Congress, led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, took to the streets of Kolkata on Saturday. During the protest, DMK supremo M Karunanidhi threatened to pull out of the UPA government of which his party has been a part of for the past nine years. But hours after making that statement, Karunanidhi backtracked saying that he never threatened to quit. Here are images of the DMK protest in Chennai.
