In India, class 10 and 12 board exams are the equivalent of going to war; both with yourself and your peers who might score more than you. Of course, doing well is also about making teachers and your parents proud but that's not the most important reason one needs to do well. More important is the fact that a high percentage at the board level means automatic entry into a good college.
