For the last three days, Harish Yadav has been working 18 hours every day. He is an expert in making 15 vegetarian dishes and five types of kachoris. "I feel blessed to cook for Baba's disciples," he said, wiping sweat off his face with his trademark red gamchha. Yadav is a part of a team of 200 which cook food for around 25,000 to 30,000 people daily at the Ramlila ground where Baba Ramdev's agitation is on. The open rasoi (kitchen) starts serving around 8am. Last chunk of meal is served by mid night. More than 400 volunteers are involved in maintaining food stalls, said Kamal Soni of Patanjali Vidyapeeth. Volunteers make sure that those wanting food come only in queues. Soni said that all the raw material including wheat, rice and spices are part of donation received at the protest venue. Breakfast is made of daliya and halwa. For lunch and dinner, the menu involves potato curry, pulses and fried mixed vegetables.
