Images: Ashok Mehta’s funeral saw his friends bid him farewell

Ashok Mehta, India's finest cinematographer, whose rags to riches story is legend in the film business, died on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with lung cancer. The affable cinematographer earned many laurels and awards in his lifetime, but he also earned respect and love from the people he worked with, all of whom turned up at his funeral held at the Santacruz Cemetery in Mumbai to wish him farewell with tearful eyes. Arjun Rampal and Manisha Koirala who starred in Mehta's first directorial film, Moksha, were heartbroken as were Shah Rukh Khan, Aseem Bajaj and Shashi Kapoor who worked with Mehta in 36, Chowringhee Lane which won him a National Award.
