Feb 21, 2012

This morning, more than 2,000 Afghans gathered outside the Bagram airbase, the biggest US military base in Afghanistan, chanting 'Death to America'. The immediate provocation for their exertions: unconfirmed reports that copies of the Koran had been burnt at the base by US soldiers. Reports from the ground indicate that the protesters tired of chanting slogans and began to throw stones. Images of some angry protesters. Mouse over for captions.
