The iconic 'utterly butterly' Amul girl has survived half a century. In a polka dotted dress, with a matching bow in her hair, the Amul girl has continued to charm with her tounge-in-cheek humour since 1960s. 50 years after it was first launched, Amul's sale figures have jumped from 1,000 tonnes a year in 1966 to over 25,000 tonnes a year in 1997 thanks to the thumb-sized girl who climbed on to the hoardings and put a spell on the masses.
