Earlier on Saturday, Macron began his official engagements as part of four-day visit to India with a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. Macron was greeted by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PTI

Macron inspected a guard of honour during his ceremonial reception. After inspecting, Macron said that he is very happy and proud of this visit. He also thanked Kovind and Modi for the welcome. PTI

The french president later met Modi at Hyderabad House where the two held bilateral talks. While addressing the joint press conference, Modi said that the the meeting is not just of two nations, but it is the union of two similar thinking cultures. PTI
