NSE plans to set up international exchange in Gujarat

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has agreed to set up an international exchange at a planned special economic zone in Gujarat, the exchange said on Thursday. The international bourse will offer trading in equities, interest rates and currencies among other asset classes, NSE said. BEIRUT (Reuters) - A U.S.-led alliance launched air strikes against Islamic State on Thursday in an area of northeast Syria where the militants are now estimated to have abducted at least 220 Assyrian Christians this week, a group monitoring the war reported. India to raise railway freight rates in blow to steel firms

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India will raise railway freight rates on coal, iron ore and steel from April 1 to help fund an expansion of its well-worn network, a move that threatens to raise costs for local steel makers at a time when demand is weak and imports are surging.
