Just Savarna Things: A Twitter page about caste and hypocrisy that will make you laugh awkwardly

#Caste   #facebook   #Just Savarna Things   #Shareworthy   #ThingsWeLike   #Twitter

Beware the members of elite social circles of the inter-webs! There is a new occupant in the neighbourhood and it's calling you out on all your sins.

All your sins so pure and instincts so primal that you don't even confront them in your wildest dreams.

Yes, we are talking about caste and hypocrisy.

Now don't you run away just yet and pretend you are some incarnation of Gauri. Come, face your demons with us and you might even be allowed through the Pearly gates (*read conditions below).

Just Savarna Things, a page on Facebook and Twitter is exactly what the name implies — just Savarna things. Now, if you are reading this while sitting with sipping mocha in a cafe surrounded by your friends, and the need arises, for obvious reasons, that you pretend you don't know what the word Savarna means, we'll give you some rope.

Savarna (English: caste Hindus) are considered part of the Hindu Varna system of social classes. Communities which belong to one of the four varnas or classes i. e. Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra are called "Savarna". In the present-day context, they include all the forward castes.

The above definition comes straight from the reliable archives of Wikipedia, although another trusted source, namely the Urban Dictionary defines the word as follows,

An awesome girl with pale blue eyes and pretty blonde hair that is always smiling. She is one you want befriend when you first meet her. Her laugh is...

We'll stick to the Wikipedias for this copy.

The pure soul(s) running the account seems to have one mission and one mission only, to make you awkward. To make you awkward like when your girlfriend found a copy of Mein Kampf hidden behind your flush tank.

Here are a few examples (Warning: If you think your nervous laughter wont be detected, you are wrong. We know because we tried + Wikipedia):

Yes, wrong actor, we noticed.

You know its funny.

Found him. Hehehe.

So tonight when you go to bed, think about your life. Contemplate how you got where you are. Think about your society and the state of mass media.

Then, of course, blame it on caste and go to sleep.

*Please read the terms and conditions carefully. Being from the listed caste will make the entire process of the transaction smooth and save unrequited embarrassment.
